Red & Yellow Hand Pulled Murrini in Round Red Wood Frame

This Red and Yellow Murrini glass piece was custom made in our glass studio and measures approximately 5" in diameter.  It is framed in a custom designed 8.5 inch, round, textured, wood frame that was also made in our glass studio and hand painted.  It is a one of a kind piece.  
 
To achieve this effect, each piece of murrini was hand pulled in-house via a process that involves melting sheets of glass at a temperature of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot glass is then pulled by hand into long rods and ultimately cut into small cross-sections to reveal the unique color and pattern. Each piece of murrini is custom designed for its unique color and pattern.
 
This piece consists of a combination of hundreds of pieces of beautiful murrini patterns. The colors include various shades of red, yelow, and clear glass There is a clear underlayment of glass that adds dimension and sophistication to the piece. This piece was designed, cut, and assembled by hand, and required multiple day long firings in our kiln at temperatures up to 1460 degrees Fahrenheit.  The frame includes a hanger that facilitates simple hanging with just one nail or screw in the wall.  This piece is beautiful on its own or in a grouping of other pieces as pictured.

Please Note:  All items are hand made and each is unique.  There are innate characteristics of the glass that may create bubbles or other slight imperfections when fired to nearly 1500 degrees Fahrenheit.  This is a natural occurrence with all glass and does not diminish the beauty of the piece.
