Clear Kiln Carved Bowl

This gorgeous custom designed and handmade bowl measures approximately 11 inches in diameter. This bowl was custom made from beginning to end. Intricate designs are cut into sheets of ceramic paper that are placed in the bottom of a casting mold. Hundreds of clear glass pieces are than hand cut and placed in the mold over the design and then heated to over 1500 degrees. Additional firings are used to make a bowl shape.
 
This bowl is thick and heavy. it was designed, cut, and assembled by hand, and required multiple day long firings in our kiln at temperatures up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Please Note: All items are hand made and each is unique. There are innate characteristics of the glass that may create bubbles or other slight imperfections when fired to nearly 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a natural occurrence with all glass and does not diminish the beauty of the piece.
